What documents do I need to bring with me for my visit?

We want you to get the most out of your visit here with Al West. To ensure your best chances at being approved and a fast, seamless experience, you will need to bring your driver’s license, proof of income, current insurance cards, and proof of residence, such as a bill with your name and address on it. If you are trading a vehicle, you will also need to bring the title and registration to your trade.

How do I make my payments?

What kind of pre-owned extended service contracts do you offer?

All of the pre-owned vehicles we sell come with at least a limited, powertrain warranty. Even though this is provided, it is important to note that this warranty covers lubricated parts only and it beneficial to purchase other protection. We offer tire and wheel coverage, extended manufacturer service contracts, and oil change packages to give you the peace of mind that your vehicle will be taken care of in the worst of times.

Do I need an appointment?

It gets really busy around here and the last thing we want is to make you wait or not get the attention and courtesy you deserve, so setting an appointment is always the best alternative to not. If you call ahead, we can get things ready to go for you and have a product specialist waiting for you to help speed up the process of purchasing your vehicle.

Where do your used vehicles come from?

We receive our used vehicles from customer trade ins, manufacturer auctions, and by purchasing customer vehicles. After inspecting over 100 areas on each used vehicle we receive, make the necessary fixes, and clean it, we are able to put it on the lot knowing it will be safe to drive for many years to come.

Do you take trades?

What extended service contracts and add on products do you offer?

We are able to sell Nissan and Chrysler’s manufacturer service contracts, prepaid maintenance, protection for tire and wheel, dent and ding, key fob replacement, windshield chip repair, and and interior/exterior protectant to keep your vehicle looking new. We also several aftermarket extended service contracts, and GAP to make sure you are taken care of throughout the life of your vehicle.

How do I find my interest rate?

Your financing paperwork should disclose your interest rate at the top of the Security Disclosure Agreement or at the top of the loan paperwork. If you cannot find it, you can try calling your lienholder or the finance manager you signed your paperwork in front of. Which credit bureaus does Al West pull from and how can I find out my credit score?

Al West has the ability to pull from Transunion, Equifax, or Experian, but we typically receive credit information from Equifax. We will disclose your score to you after it has been pulled. The score we pull may differ from online providers such as Credit Karma or freecreditreport.com due to more than 50 combinations from different bureaus and criteria for each bureau. Our lenders are are seeing you as more than just a number, which is why we pull your credit. They will look at payment history, derogatory marks, age of credit, etc. It is important to note that Al West Nissan and Al West Chrysler will not pull your credit without recorded documentation of your permission.

Which lenders do you use?

We use lenders we trust. We want to make sure your are taken care of throughout the term of your loan so we have chosen lenders who have proven to offer fantastic interest rates and great customer service.


I haven’t received my title. What do I do?

If you have not received your title within 30 days of your purchase date, please contact the title clerk, Neka, at (573) 308-1233.

How much will my sales tax be?

You can calculate your sales tax by clicking on this link: https://sa.dor.mo.gov/mv/stc/This directs you to The Missouri Department of Revenue website and it will calculate an estimate of your sales tax on your vehicle based on your address.

How do I get a referral check?

You can receive $100 by referring someone who purchases a vehicle from Al West Nissan or Al West Chrysler! You can call your salesperson or Pamella Jones at (573) 308-1233 to work out the details and let us know who you referred.

I purchased parts, accessories, etc. with my vehicle, how do I get it?

Give us a call at (573) 308-1233 for the Nissan store or (573) 364-1233 for the Chrysler store! We want to make sure you get all that was promised to you and leave you satisfied with your purchase process.

How do I cancel an add-on product such as GAP and/or extended service contract?

If you have traded or paid off your vehicle in the last 30 days, you could receive a refund for the products you purchased with your vehicle, such as GAP or extended service contracts. I didn’t get an inspection. What should I do?

We have many licensed mechanical technicians at both stores to inspect your vehicle and provide you with the necessary paperwork. Please stop by either dealership to have your vehicle professionally inspected.


Why is my check engine light on? What if it’s blinking?

Your check engine light could be on for a multitude of reasons from the gas cap not being sealed properly to sensors or an even bigger issue. You can stop be either Al West location to have a diagnostic ran on your vehicle to find what triggered your check engine light to turn on. If it is blinking, this means there is a much more serious problem with your engine and you must not drive your vehicle any further. How much does an oil change cost and how long will it take?

A 5 quart, conventional oil change with filter and a complimentary 27 point inspection costs $32.95 plus tax. Synthetic and diesel oil changes or additional quarts of oil will cost more. The typical wait time to have your vehicle’s oil changed is 30 minutes. If you have added services, please expect a slightly longer wait time.

How do I get a quote for repairs?

However, vehicle motors have many moving and electrical parts, so it is always best to bring your vehicle into the dealership to do a diagnostic check has been ran on your vehicle in order to give you a more precise estimate.

How do I know if my vehicle has a recall and is it safe to drive?

You can contact any one of our advisors. We have the ability to look up any VIN to see active recalls. After seeing which recalls your vehicle may have, the service advisors will then be able to access the safety in driving your vehicle until the recall is fixed.

Which makes and models do you service?

We service all makes and models. We want to make sure you are taken care of no matter which vehicle you drive, so if there is something we may not be able to do, we can advise you to which steps need to be taken next.

What should I do if my vehicle won’t start?

There are a lot of components that could cause your vehicle to fail to start. Most likely, it is the battery and a pair of good jumper cables and a friend’s car can do the trick. If you find that this is not working, you can have it towed to Al West and we can diagnose the issue.

What types of maintenance plans and oil change packages do you offer?

We offer a 4 oil change package for $85 using conventional oil only. For additional cost, you can upgrade this package to replace conventional oil changes with synthetic and/or diesel oil changes.

How often should my tires be rotated?

It is typical for customers to rotate their tires every other oil change. Many vehicles have unique weight placement, so it is best to check your Maintenance Guide and find which mileage intervals the manufacturer suggests you to rotate your tires.


Why do I need the VIN to my vehicle when I order parts?

Not all vehicles are equipped the same and there are many different configurations that your car could have. Sometimes the manufacturer will change a part during the model year production and the new version will not work in place of the old or vice versa. When using the V.I.N to specify parts for your car, we can identify important sales codes or build dates that will help insure that we get the correct part for your automobile the first time.

What is a CORE charge and how do I avoid it?

A core charge is paid when you do not have the old part to turn in for credit. Some parts are of value to the manufacture as they may refurbish the part. When the old part is returned in its original box in an acceptable condition, a credit can be given for that part and you can avoid the CORE charge.

What are your hours? Can I pick up a part when the parts department is closed?

Our Nissan parts department is open 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday. Our Chrysler parts Department is open 7:30 am – 6:00 pm Monday through Friday and 9:00 am -1:00 pm Saturdays. If you need to pick up a part outside of those hours and have prepaid, we are happy to set it in a safe place and a sales associate can assist in grabbing it for you during sales hours.

Can I get parts for vehicles that are not Nissan or Chrysler?

Yes! We have access to parts from all manufacturers and aftermarket supply chains including Magneti Marelli parts and tires. Al West will be there for all your parts needs no matter what type of vehicle you drive!


What types of packages do you offer?

How long will it take to have my car detailed and do I need an appointment?

Depending on which package you select, a detail on your vehicle could take up to 6 hours. An appointment is needed to ensure you have transportation and we have the time available to give your vehicle the attention it deserves.

Can you pick up my vehicle and drop it off when finished?

We strive to make getting a detail on your vehicle as easy and convenient as possible. We are able to pick and/or drop off you or your vehicle up within the city limits of Rolla before and/or after your your detail appointment.

What products do you use?

Al West’s detail team uses specifically designed environmental and user friendly products provided to us by responsible and trustworthy distributors. We choose our products with you in mind, making sure to use only the best solutions to clean, restore and recondition your vehicle.

Why can’t you clean my motor?

All vehicles, especially newer ones, have a lot of working, electrical parts. To keep us and your vehicle safe, we cannot allow water or product to go underneath the hood.
